Hello everyone, I'm new.

I finally found a community where I can FINALLY talk to other people about techno music! hooRAY.

Basically I like all electronic music, my favs being techno, dance, rave, trance, and some industrial. Groups I like are TCM (of course), The Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Orbital (somewhat..I only really like The Altogether album) Royksopp, Daftpunk, Goldfrapp, and a little Moby, Kraftwerk, and The Orb.

I'd love some comments and I'll pretty much comment on whatever, so go ahead and talk to me if you want. I keep an open mind.

Char.

Hi there, I'm the founder of this community. Yeah, I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw this post, as this community has been very dead for quite some time. However, when we do get the occasional new member, I DO try to make the best of things. I'm not sure what use you'd get out of posting anymore on this community (sorry), but if you have AIM or MSNIM, I'd be glad to talk with you, and it's been a while since I've had anyone else to talk to besides this one other e-friend who's more of an indie/alternate rock fan that anything, I don't know too many techno/etc. fans. So, if you wanna talk or stuff, here's some contact info:

AIM: angryscientist7
MSN: angryscientist7@hotmail.com
Personal E-mail: angryscientist7@gmail.com

And to be a bit more contributional (not sure if that's a word...oh well) to your post, I'll let you knwo what I think of the groups you listed.

The Crystal Method - First group I ever bought a CD for...Tweekend
The Chemical Brothers - Their later stuff is MUCH better, more masterful.
Basement Jaxx - Almost goofy, and groovy, and any other "oo" word.
Orbital - Seems most people like that altogether album. I haven't looked into them all that much, but I do like Funny Break and Otono.
Royksopp - Never heard of it.
DaftPunk - I hate to say it, but I absolutely can't stand them.
Goldfrapp - Never heard of this one either.
Moby - His new album, Hotel, is WAY un-techno (except for the ambient bonus disc). But PLAY is still one of his greatest works ever.
Kraftwerk - Heard the name, never heard the music.
The Orb - Hmmm...not sure I've heard this either.

Heh...thanks for making me feel welcome. This is the first community I've joined actually, so I had no idea what it would be like....I havent been on LJ for too terribly long...about 2ish months...

Its too bad that nobody posts on here too much anymore...But it still seems like the type of community I'm looking for...since it covers all kinds of electronic music. Where I am, practically no one knows what you're talking about when you say "techno"....=p

As for some of the groups/artists you didn't recognize, they're all quite different from each other. And yeah, they're not all that well known to most people...though I was surprised to learn that you knew about BJ...o.O

So here's a quick description of some of them:

Royksopp: They're a European group...the name suggests they're german, but my sis told me they were French....o.O...well, whatever...their music is sort of like Daftpunk, though more sad/ethereal sounding. They only have one album out, Melody A.M. ,but its one of my favorites.
Goldfrapp: A female artist. Her music is very electro/techno-y with a lot of booming bass...song #8 from the album Black Cherry is sort of well-known, i think....I recognized it when i heard the album for the first time...(though i cant think of the name of the song...=p)
The Orb: Doubtlessly the weirdest music I've ever heard...I hardly like any of the tracks from the album Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld, but Little Fluffy Clouds is actually a decent song. The music is rather ambient...its got a good deal of random conversations incorperated throughout...its pretty hard to describe....

Well, sorry about the length of "that there" comment....I just get carried away...XD... What are some of YOUR favorite groups/artists?
